Let's MERANTAU this August!

...still not in the mood to write, but i found a good material to share with, here...
so, on last Thursday i was invited to the screening of Merantau the movie. It's a movie about a young man from Padang, West Sumatera, named Yuda who is an expert in traditional martial art, Silat Harimau. He's ready to do "Merantau', a century's old rites-of-passage to be carried out by the community's young men that will see him leave the comforts of his idyllic farming village and make a name for himself in the bustling city of Jakarta. But Jakarta offered him something really different. A change encounter, Yuda have to face the human trafiking organized by European mafia. Instead of teaching silat, Yuda use his skill to save a girl and his little brother. That made Yuda becomes the first target of the mafia genk. With escape seemingly beyond their grasp, Yuda has no choice but to face his attackers in an adrenaline charged, jaw-dropping finale.
It was a great movie. Since it's an action-drama movie, so prepare for the more than 70% of its content will be duel, fights scenes, and full with punches, kicks, and...blood!!! Yet, the story, the fights-chereography, the scoring, and even the acting of the casts are still worth to watch! Written and directed by a british young man & a martial art lover, GH Evans, Merantau will offer you a great local movie with touches of Hollywood's style ! Not to mention some funny fights scenes that will make us remember some of Jacky Chen's!
So, you better in line to buy the ticket at august 6th, okay...
and on august 13th, another great local movie will be released, MERAH PUTIH. I tell you later after i watch its screening this Monday. See yaa...

gak enak badan, serangan atonia lumayan sering minggu ini, sedih gara-gara my idol died, sleep deprivation, cuaca yang agak sulit untuk dihadapi, and i guess deep inside i was still in 'melancholia' level.....that's why i didn't post for about two weeks...
hope it wont last long...

work & leisure

on wednesday, june 17, i went to bandung to review some cafe, resto and shopping spots. i went with elik (djakarta photographer), annisa, and my cousin, beph. it was work but it was fun, though. we visited Treehouse Resto (behind the Borromeus Hospital, Dago), Happy Go Lucky boutique (@jl.Ciliwung), Katjapiring Resto & Chloe & Phoebe accesories (@Paris Van Java), and Maen Bola Cafe & Game (@Paskal Hyper Square). And you know what? i'll be leaving for surabaya tomorrow, and wait the story when i get back to Jakarta! Yay!
